Japanese

Post by Hamkin on Mon Dec 31, 2007 10:45 pm

This thread is created to talk about the Japanese language, its commonalities with other languages, its differences and learning practices. Typing in Japanese is accepted in this topic since it is the Japanese Topic. So without further ado.

はじめまして。僕はMikeです。どぞよしく!

Well I am currently taking Japanese at a college near where I live and if anyone here knows the language (fluently) send me a message. I only know the basics so keep it simple.

LOL! I guess I was stupid they offered Japanese at our high school. ^_^

But I'm learning too....someone once told me that you'll learn japanese faster if you learned hiragana and then go on to Kanji. There's a lot of symbols....

In reality you are sappose to learn hirigana first then katakana then kanji. I think tis something like you need to know 1000-3000 kanji symbles to be able to read a magazine.

yep. what hamkin said. don't take kanji w/o knowing katakana. & hiragana always comes first.

hi guys, just started studying the japanese language in japan
unfortunately my access to the internet is 1. limited, 2. slow, 3. inconvenient (i have to carry my laptop to a seperate building to use the internet =_=")
so i wont be around very often, but yeah, hope we're able to help each other out when needed
